We are Golden Fin – a four-piece alternative rock band from Jena. Our songs can be placed somewhere between the music of Biffy Clyro, Queens of the Stone Age, and Wolfmother. Since 2016, we’ve been shaking up stages, reached the finals of the Thüringen Grammy in 2023, and released our first record in 2024.

Ende 2024 begannen die Aufnahmen für Atlas. Wieder im Harz und wieder produziert von Rhys Zacher. Aber es hat sich einiges gedreht: Krieg und Rechts-Ruck gehen an Golden Fin nicht spurlos vorbei. Die Songs sind politischer und positionieren sich klar gegen Krieg und Ausgrenzung. Am 28.03.2025 erschien Atlas mit 4 Songs auf allen Streaming Plattformen.

Für die Aufnahmen zu Magic Heartz hat sich Golden Fin in eine Waldhütte im Harz eingeschlossen. Alle Songs wurden in Eigenregie geschrieben und aufgenommen. Gemischt und gemastert wurden die Songs von Rhys Zacher (Spintlight Studio Newcastle Australia). Veröffentlicht wurde die EP mit 3 songs am 14. Februar 2024. Neben der digitalen Veröffentlichung, gibt es eine limitierte extended Version als 12’’ Schallplatte mit ingesamt 6 Songs.

Fat Meep wurde komplett in Eigen-Regie aufgenommen und produziert. Neben einem alten Song, Footstep in a Flower Field, sind auch 2 neue zu hören. Seit dem 01. April 2023 sind die Songs auf allen Streaming Plattformen zu hören. Die Songs Suck That Dust and Fallen Sunflower Samurai ist zudem auf der Vinyl-Edition von Magic Heartz zu hören. Zum 05.12.2025 erschien Footstep In A Flower Field als Single in einer neu produzierten Version.

Golden Fin – a four-piece alternative rock band from Jena. Their self-composed songs fall somewhere between the music of Biffy Clyro, Queens of the Stone Age, and Wolfmother.
It all started back in 2006, when Max and Sascha spent all their saved pocket money on 10-watt amps and electric guitars. Instead of taking guitar lessons, they simply dove right in. Not long after, they met Teresa at the farewell concert of her band Mirage. From 2010 onward, the three called themselves Sold Out and independently recorded three albums: Turning Leaf, Urban Smoke, and Even Scale. Some songs like Color The Intent, Blue Lights, and Take Some Time are still part of the band’s setlist today.
After a two-year break, Tim joined on bass in the fall of 2016 – the last missing puzzle piece. From then on, the band called themselves Golden Fin and released their first EP in 2021, featuring the songs Vulcano, Blank Page, and Sand Runs Quick. With Tim on bass, the band found their sound: raw, analog, melodic, groovy, atmospheric, powerful – and above all, loud!

In 2023, Fat Meep was released with a total of three songs, including Footstep In A Flower Field, which they had already played as Sold Out. That same year, the band made it to the finals of the Thüringen Grammy and was named one of Thuringia’s best newcomers by Takt Magazin.
2024 marked another step forward. The band caught the attention of producer Rhys Zacher, who has since produced all of their songs. For the recordings of their Magic Heartz EP, the band secluded themselves in a cabin in the Harz Mountains to record everything on their own, while Rhys Zacher took care of mixing and mastering. Later that year, Magic Heartz was released as their first limited vinyl record.
Their latest release, Atlas, came out in 2025. The rise of war and right-wing politics has left its mark on the band. Their songs have become more political, taking a clear stance against war and exclusion.
